The Hamburg Student Center provides students in Hamburg with service and consulting pertaining to the student cafeteria, dormitories, program financing, as well as social and international topics.
Eat & Meet
Each day, up to 21,000 guests are served coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner in thirteen cafeterias, eleven cafés, and seven coffee shops.
Since March 16, 2015 the modern cafeteria on the Finkenau Art and Media Campus has offered a diverse and delicious menu of meat, vegetarian, and even vegan dishes, along with a pasta and salad bar and fresh pizza.
The Finkenau cafeteria is wheelchair accessible.
The 23 student dorm facilities (http://www.studierendenwerk-hamburg.de/studierendenwerk/de/wohnen/wohnanlagen/ ) are home to approximately 3,950 German and international students.
The Student Housing Center helps students make the right housing choice.
Financing Your Studies
Each year, more than 88 million euros are allocated in accordance with the German Federal Education and Trainings Assistance Act (BAföG). The Student Financing Center (BeSt) advises students and potential applicants free of charge and obligation on topics related to financing their studies (BAföG, scholarships, student loans, etc.).
Social and International Center
The Social and International Center (BeSI) supports students and potential applicants in finding solutions to social, personal, and financial problems confidentially and free of charge. Focal issues: international study (incoming international students),studying after parenthood, and studying for those with medical conditions.
Five daycare centers and other flexible childcare options are available and currently provide care for around 400 of the children of HMS students.
