The HMS holds itself to a high academic standard. What makes the programs at the Hamburg Media School so special is the integration of practical experience into the teaching of valuable knowledge, which in turn facilitates innovation and the promotion of the sector. Friends of the HMS benefit from this as well.
The Hamburg Media School is a public private partnership, a coalition of both public and private institutions and companies. These include the City of Hamburg, Hamburg University, the College of Fine Arts, and more than 63 national and international partners from the media sector.
At the HMS students can earn their master’s degree, either as Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Media Management (full or part time); as Masters of Arts in Film; or as Executive Masters of Arts in Journalism. The HMS requires tuition for the Media Management and Journalism programs, the whole of which is used to benefit the curriculum. Numerous scholarships and payment plans are available in order to ensure the accessibility of HMS programs to the greatest possible number of talented applicants. One model provides for the financing of scholarships by member companies of the Friends’ Association. Studio Hamburg has assumed this role, as have Spiegel Publishing and Gruner and Jahr. Students who receive these scholarships complete internships as well as their MA theses with the scholarship providers.
Companies who decide to support students in this way have selected a direct path of contribution. However, partnerships with the HMS can also take other forms. We would be delighted to present our services to you. Do not hesitate to contact us.
